Publisher Description
Families are dying. No matter how hard DCI Platt tries, he's not seeing a pattern; not even after his own wife and daughter are targeted.
Young Melanie has forgotten what life outside Larksford House was like. She's been in for so long. But when Toby joins the team, she starts to remember. She really shouldn't be there. Professor Hicks is delighted that Toby has made the breakthrough for him. It might actually allow Hicks to improve his own fortunes.
Bill Brown sells security; his business improves with every strike of the family killer. As fear in the community grows, Bill's ability to gain a stranger's trust comes to the fore. But what is he hiding?
As the clock ticks, can Platt get closer to the killer, and will Melanie remember the truth?

Exciting!
This book inspires the reader for a “one time read.” When the ending encourages reader to go on to the next book, that is a good suggestion. Continuing to read in this series leads to waiting a bit. Reading this book leads to memory before moving on.
Thanks to the offer to continue reading. It is part of a series. This is encouraging in two ways. Read the beginning, continue considering the series but wait until this story is settled in your rating.

I have never seen so many stupid mistakes that any sixth grader should have found. “His mouth was as dry as a dessert.” The misuse of the words to and too is unforgivable. These are just two of many errors, and to anyone with an education they are unforgivable. In addition, the book leaves you hanging at the end which is just a way of getting you to buy the next book. Let’s just say this author won’t be getting any of my money.
I despise these books that don’t have an ending and lead you on to purchase another book!
Same as above!
