    Good story overall. However, Inez did drive me a bit nuts with her 'this is entirely my fault, I'm a horrible person' to 'I have excellent intuition and should trust myself' repeated whiplash. Never has a character made so many terrible decisions and yet stood so firm in their conviction that they are doing the right thing and know best.

    I must confess I was worried about de sequel of "What the river knows", but my god what a pleasant surprise that Isabel ended as good as she started. The book is just addicting, I couldn't stop, I couldn't work, I couldn't eat or drink until I finished.

    Despite sometimes being angry at some of Inez's attitudes I get her! She's so relatable but I think she could make Whit suffer a little more rsrs

    💙 Forever in love with Whitford Hayes. And he went full snarling brute in this book. Acting like he didn’t love Inez yet growling every time anyone caused her harm. I basically forgave him instantly 😅 and the jump into my arms moment, left me speechless!!

    💙 the Treasure hunt! I loved the search for the alchemy sheet which combined Inez’s visions with the actual secrets of Alexandria! Definitely read the authors note at the end! This duet has just completely resparked my childhood interest in Egypt!

    💙 the twists! There’s a particular reveal that I did NOT see coming! My heart bleeds for Inez! (but she has Whit, so she’s not doing too bad in life 😅)

    💙 the story that has been opened… so I’m so intrigued by the potential Leo / Arabella story line! Loved the intro of Leo even if it was brief, so I’m very VERY intrigued! Especially if it comes back to Egypt!

    All in all, love this book and the duet as a whole! It really warms my heart 🥰🥰 The writing is beautiful, the characters are loveable and the scenery is just perfect!
